Faucets Now Design Your Interiors Around This Accessory

by:Mayer     2020-09-14
Gone are those days when kitchen taps and bathroom taps ruined the decor of the house. These plumbing accessories stood out like sore thumb. Today, these accessories have come off age; to such an extent that a woman actually asks her interior designer to design her house around a particular faucet; in an advertisement of course. A little far fetched, but the fact is today Faucets are available in breathtaking designs, materials and finishes. Even the internal mechanism has changed considerably. These taps no longer use rubber or neoprene washers. Instead these are replaced with disc cartridge and ball mechanism. A cartridge or stem cartridge typically moves up and down to control the flow of water whereas ball type mechanism typically works above the faucet cap. Kitchen Faucets offer style, versatility and functionality. They are designed to look good and last long. Some of the popular designs which are available in the market today are: 1. Single handle - A single handle kitchen faucet controls the flow of water with its vertical handle movement. 2. Two handle - This design provides a separate option for hot and cold water discharge. 3. Pull out spray - Pull out spray is one of the modern designs, which looks extremely stylish. Simply press the button and pull out the spray hose which looks aesthetically appealing. Spray faucet saves money because it uses less water to clean pots and utensils. Some of them have retractable spray hose, which is a great feature. 4. Wall mounted - Wall mounted taps are contemporary, elegant and great space savers. Bathroom Faucets on the other hand need to look good and function with precision. They are typically made from durable materials because their usage is much more than other taps. Stainless steel and chrome taps were the darlings of designers at one point of time but today they have been replaced with brass and brushed nickel. Stainless steel is highly resistant to abrasion, whereas the more contemporary ones tend to chip, crack and fade quickly. A bathroom faucet comes in three different styles: center set, wall-mounted, and widespread. A cartridge or stem cartridge typically moves up and down to control the flow of water whereas ball type mechanism typically works above the faucet cap.
