Beijing Capital International Airport

Where it was: Beijing

Approx. Amount of delivered products from Mayer: RMB 5million

When installed: 2009

【 Project Background ]

Beijing Capital International Airport is China's largest and busiest aviation hub, known as "China's Front Door." Its Terminal 3 was the world's largest single-terminal building at the time of construction, with passenger throughput ranking among the highest globally. As a crucial gateway receiving heads of state and dignitaries from around the world, the airport placed top-tier quality requirements on the safety, hygiene, and durability of its water supply system.

As a Hong Kong-listed company (Stock Code: 01116.HK) and a National High-Tech Enterprise, Guangzhou Mayer became the supplier for Beijing Capital International Airport by virtue of its position as a contributor to national standards, its end-to-end in-house production quality control, and its internationally recognized certifications. The project delivery value was approximately RMB 5 million.

[ Technical Application ]

To ensure the long-term stable operation of the airport's water supply system, Mayer provided a complete thin-wall stainless steel piping solution, covering the following core technologies:

1. Double Press & Grooved Connection Technology
Different connection methods were adopted based on pipe diameter: small-bore pipes (DN15-DN100) used Double Press Connection, offering high seismic resistance, leak-proof reliability, and easy installation, while eliminating water contamination from welding oxidation; large-bore pipes (DN125-DN200) used Grooved Connection, significantly improving construction efficiency.

2. High-Grade 304 & 316L Stainless Steel

High-quality 304 stainless steel pipes were used for standard water supply needs. Notably, for the VIP and government aircraft buildings—areas specifically designated for receiving heads of state—the original design required seamless copper pipes. Considering that double-press thin-wall stainless steel pipes offer superior corrosion resistance and water quality protection, the construction party ultimately changed the water supply pipe material to thin-wall stainless steel water pipes.

3. End-to-End Quality Control & Traceability
All raw materials for Mayer's stainless steel products are sourced from China's top five steel mills. From steel coil slitting, tube manufacturing to fitting forming, the entire process is completed in Mayer's own 55,000㎡ factory. Each finished product features a traceability code that can be traced back to the raw material source, ensuring reliable quality.

[ Application Scope & Timeline ]

The project covers the water supply systems in multiple areas of Beijing Capital International Airport, including Terminal 3, the VIP aircraft building, the government aircraft building, and the administration building. The project was installed and put into operation in 2009 and has been running stably for over 15 years, fully validating the exceptional durability of Mayer's stainless steel piping system.

[ Results & Significance ]

As China's most important aviation gateway, Beijing Capital International Airport's Terminal 3 was named one of the "World's Top 10 Most Creative Buildings" by The Times of the UK. Hidden behind this magnificent structure, Mayer's stainless steel piping system acts as a sophisticated "vascular network," continuously delivering clean and safe water to this world-class hub. Over 15 years of trouble-free operation is the most powerful testament to Mayer's product quality.

The successful implementation of this project powerfully proves that Guangzhou Mayer's stainless steel piping system meets the stringent standards of a national-level gateway hub. The accumulation of such landmark projects has given Mayer unique advantages in the airport sector, subsequently serving multiple aviation hubs including Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport. Beyond airports, Mayer has also successfully served numerous landmark projects including Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and Beijing China Zun Tower, continuously consolidating its leading position in the high-end public construction market.
