It has received numerous 5 star ratings from consumers while at the same time hardly receiving any negative reviews at all. We will find the good and the bad about this watch, although there isn't much bad to talk about. Citizen offers up a very striking-looking watch with this one. The crystal is large and clear, and many people like the luminous glow in the dark hands and markers. They are very easy to read in low light settings or even no light at all. One reviewer mentioned that this is their second Eco-Drive, among many other watches. They are extremely pleased with the brand and this watch in particular. The workmanship is outstanding and the weight is balanced for everyday wear. It isn't too heavy that it feels like a brick, but it's not too light either. The main winning point for the watch though is the cleanliness of the display. The time is easy to read and the luminous markers function excellently at night. Even though there are many markings on the scale bezels, they don't affect the overall cleanliness of the face of the watch. Another reviewer who has had this watch for 3 weeks absolutely loves it so far. Some observations where that it doesn't feel thick and heavy but it does feel solid, and is very comfortable on the wrist. The time is right on after being measured over 3 weeks against an atomic clock. They could also read the small numbers just fine with this particular reviewer having about 15/20 vision and doesn't wear reading glasses. It does come with some cool functions and tools. Slide rule function, tip calculator, and a converter from pounds to kilograms and vice versa. You may never use these or care about them but they are there if you do. The watch also doesn't have a chronograph or alarm. So if you absolutely must have those features than you will probably want to check out some different watches. At the time of this writing, there were only four 1 star ratings out of 118 reviews, (81 five stars and 27 four stars) and they consisted of one person not being able to open the back of the watch to replace the battery, even with jewelers tools. One reviewer received a lemon that never worked even after charging it for several days. One consumer found the threaded crown or body was stripped so the crown no longer locked in place. After contacting Citizen for warranty, they said it wasn't covered. The last person had the screw cap to adjust the date brake in less than three months. They all made it a point to say they would never buy from Citizen again. Simply due to the overwhelming amount of high scores this watch received, I have a very hard time giving the negative reviews much weight. It could be that a handful of people received some inadequate products, but that is the exception it seems for this watch. Nearly everyone that gave their review of this watch was more than happy with not only the look of the watch, but how it feels on their wrist. The Nighthawk captures a boldness and sophistication that a lot of other watches lack. It is somewhat edgy with a fresher design than other Citizen watches. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone that wants a casual watch that will catch other peoples eye. The price tag isn't too shabby either.
